Glucosamine HCL is an amino sugar that is the key precursor or
building blocks of the synthesis of the connective tissue matrix,
such as tendons, ligaments, cartilage, synovial fluids, spinal discs
and mucous membranes.
Glucosamine HCL stimulates production of glucosaminoglycans (GAGs)
in the synovial fluids (fluids that fill our joint spaces), that
give joint fluid greater elasticity, shock resistance and lubricating
powers. This then results in the manufacture of collagen, which
is the protein portion of a fibrous substance that holds the joints
together.
Animal and human research, primarily in Europe, has shown that
oral glucosamine taken as a nutritional supplement, can have positive
effects in reduction of joint pain, tenderness, swelling and improved
joint function, and osteoarthritis.
Glucosamine HCL dissolves (ionises) completely in the stomachs
hydrochloric acid which makes all of the Glucosamine present, readily
available for absorption in the small intestine.
