TFAs - The Solution
Within the Food Industry there are concerns over food safety with regard to the presence of TFAs in fats and fat
powders. TFAs are more prevalent in hydrogenated (hardened) fats. With our new technology we can now offer fat powders
with a TFA content of less than 2%. Our aim is for continued development in this area to reassure our customers that
we can provide healthier products, which still contain the functional attributes of hardened fats without the associated
TFA risks.
A GEM for Inclusion into Cakes and Biscuits
Park Tonks Ltd have introduced to the market a new and exciting extruded milk-based product known as GEM, for
inclusion into cakes and biscuits. The product resembles a small 'pellet'. The functionality changes on baking, providing
an opportunity to produce various flavours and colours. Upon eating, the GEM melts in the mouth providing a rich creamy
taste. GEM is a dust free product with excellent handling properties and comes in a wide range of flavours including
coffee, chocolate, banana, pineapple and strawberry.
